(M.N.) Markus Nier, 52 Jahre alt, Diensthundef\u00fchrer der JVA Chemnitz (Justiz Sachsen), 1x Datentr\u00e4gersp\u00fcrhund Malinois, 1x Rauschgiftsp\u00fcrhund X-Herder,\u00a0<\/i><\/p>

Wie bist du zu deinem Job als Diensthundef\u00fchrer gekommen und wie lange arbeitest du bereits in diesem Bereich?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N. ) Ich bin seit 2000 im Vollzugsdienst (Schichtdienst) t\u00e4tig, 2009 habe ich mich auf die Stelle des Diensthundef\u00fchrers beworben und bin seitdem als DHF t\u00e4tig.<\/i><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

K\u00f6nntest du uns einen Einblick in das Diensthundewesen der JVA geben, wie viele Diensthunde gibt es und wie wichtig sind Hunde f\u00fcr die t\u00e4gliche Arbeit in der JVA?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) Bei der Justiz Sachsen gibt es 6 Diensthundef\u00fchrer und 7 (6x RSH 1x DTSH) Diensthunde f\u00fcr insgesamt 10 Justizvollzugsanstalten. Die Diensthunde werden als reine passiv anzeigende Spezialhunde als wichtiges Hilfsmittel zur Suche nach verbotenen Gegenst\u00e4nden und Substanzen eingesetzt.<\/i><\/p>

Suchbereiche sind alle Bereiche der Justizvollzugsanstalt, besonders Haftr\u00e4ume und Arbeitsbereiche und der Postverkehr. Die Diensthundef\u00fchrer werden regelm\u00e4\u00dfig auch in anderen Justizvollzugsanstalten zu Durchsuchungen eingesetzt.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Wie wird sichergestellt, dass die Hunde w\u00e4hrend ihrer Arbeit in der JVA nicht abgelenkt werden und sich ausschlie\u00dflich auf ihre Aufgabe konzentrieren?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) Um eine Routine bei der Arbeit zu vermeiden und dem Nachlassen der Motivation entgegen zu wirken, werden die Hunde nur anlassbezogen eingesetzt.<\/i><\/p>

Um eine Ablenkung bei der Arbeit zu vermeiden, werden schon bei der Ausbildung und regelm\u00e4\u00dfigem Training solche Situationen ge\u00fcbt, wobei andere Personen anwesend sind. Laute Gespr\u00e4che, Musik, Maschinen, Fahrzeuge und andere Ablenkungen wie zum Beispiel die Suche in einem Zoofachmarkt mit Kundenverkehr werden immer wieder ge\u00fcbt.<\/i><\/p>

Nur so gew\u00f6hnen sich die Hunde an diverse St\u00f6rfaktoren und blenden diese dann zum gr\u00f6\u00dften Teil aus.<\/i><\/p>

Wie oft trainieren Du und Dein Hund zusammen, um die F\u00e4higkeiten des Hundes auf dem neuesten Stand zu halten?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) Ein regelm\u00e4\u00dfiges Training findet w\u00f6chentlich zusammen mit den anderen Diensthundef\u00fchrern der Justiz statt. Weiterhin finden zwei Praxislehrg\u00e4nge pro Jahr mit \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung an der Diensthundeschule der s\u00e4chsischen Polizei statt.<\/i><\/p>

Ausgebildet werden die Diensthundef\u00fchrer zusammen mit ihren Diensthunden ebenfalls durch die Diensthundeschule der Polizei in Sachsen.<\/i><\/p>

Nach welchen Kriterien sucht Ihr Eure Hunde aus und welche Rassen eignen sich am besten f\u00fcr diesen speziellen Aufgabenbereich?<\/b><\/p>

(<\/span>M.N.) Die Beschaffung der Diensthunde erfolgt durch die Diensthundeschule der Polizei, erfahrenen Diensthundef\u00fchrern wird die M\u00f6glichkeit gegeben, einen Welpen selbst heran zu ziehen und vorzubereiten. Wichtig bei der Auswahl der Hunde sind Wesen, Gesundheit, Umweltverhalten und sehr hoher Beute- und Spieltrieb, dabei kommen fast ausschlie\u00dflich die Rassen Belgischer und Deutscher Sch\u00e4ferhund zum Einsatz.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Wie wird ein Hund ausgebildet, um Datentr\u00e4ger in der JVA aufzusp\u00fcren?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) Die Ausbildung eines Datentr\u00e4gersp\u00fcrhundes ist schwieriger als die eines Rauschgiftsp\u00fcrhundes, da wir es hier mit sehr geringen Duftfeldern zu tun haben und der Hund bei der Suche zu 90 Prozent gef\u00fchrt werden muss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Das ist extrem intensiv und kr\u00e4ftezehrend, er muss ebenfalls lernen durch Hilfsmittel wie zum Beispiel einem Target Stick gef\u00fchrt zu werden. Eine sehr hohe Motivation und Suchkondition ist dabei wichtig.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Der Diensthundef\u00fchrer muss selber sehr genau und m\u00f6glichst l\u00fcckenlos arbeiten, da die Duftfelder einer Mikro SD-Karte oder Nano-SIM sehr klein sind.<\/span><\/p>

Was die Hunde genau riechen, konnten mir selbst das Helmholtz Institut Leipzig nicht sagen, so dass nur vermutet werden kann, was die Hunde sich herausnehmen und abspeichern.<\/span><\/p>

Allein die vielen verschiedenen Arten und Formen von USB-Sticks sind sehr schwer zu konditionieren und f\u00fchren zu vermeintlichem Fehlverweisen.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

K\u00f6nntest du uns ein Beispiel daf\u00fcr geben, wie dein Hund in der Vergangenheit bei der Suche nach Datentr\u00e4gern eingesetzt wurde?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) Ich selber werde auch in Amtshilfe f\u00fcr andere Beh\u00f6rden wie zum Beispiel LKA Sachsen zu Durchsuchungen angefordert und eingesetzt. Direkt am Ende der Ausbildung (Januar 2023) gab es schon den ersten erfolgreichen Einsatz mit dem LKA Sachsen, wobei mein Datentr\u00e4gersp\u00fcrhund \u201eBiene\u201c (Malinois) ein wichtiges Beweismittel fand. Ebenfalls gab es bei Eins\u00e4tzen innerhalb der Justizvollzugsanstalten schon mehrere Funde von Mobiltelefonen und diversen Verstecken.<\/span><\/p>

Could you please introduce yourself briefly and tell us what your role is at the prison?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) Markus Nier, 52 years old, service dog handler at Chemnitz Prison (Saxony Justice), 1x data carrier detection dog Malinois, 1x drug detection dog X-Herder.<\/p>

How did you get your job as a service dog handler and how long have you been working in this field?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N. ) I have been working in law enforcement (shift work) since 2000, in 2009 I applied for the job of service dog handler and since then I have been working as a DHF.<\/i><\/p>

Could you give us an insight into the service dog system of the correctional facility, how many service dogs are there and how important are dogs for the daily work in the correctional facility?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) At Justice Saxony, there are 6 service dog handlers and 7 (6x RSH 1x DTSH) service dogs for a total of 10 correctional facilities. The service dogs are used as pure passive indicating special dogs as an important tool for the search for prohibited objects and substances.<\/i><\/p>

Search areas include all areas of the correctional facility, especially detention rooms and work areas and mail traffic. Service dog handlers are also regularly deployed to other correctional facilities for searches. <\/i><\/p>

How is it ensured that the dogs are not distracted during their work in the correctional facility and that they concentrate exclusively on their task?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) In order to avoid a routine in the work and to counteract a decrease in motivation, the dogs are only used on an occasion-related basis.<\/i><\/p>

In order to avoid distraction during work, such situations are already practiced during training and regular training, whereby other people are present. Loud conversations, music, machines, vehicles and other distractions such as searching in a pet store with customer traffic are practiced over and over again.<\/i><\/p>

This is the only way for the dogs to get used to various disturbing factors and then to fade them out for the most part.<\/i><\/p>

How often do you and your dog train together to keep the dog’s skills up to date?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) Regular training takes place weekly together with the other service dog handlers of the justice system. Furthermore, there are two practical training courses per year with examination at the service dog school of the Saxon police.<\/i><\/p>

The service dog handlers are trained together with their service dogs also by the service dog school of the police in Saxony.<\/i><\/p>

According to which criteria do you select your dogs and which breeds are best suited for this special task?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) The procurement of the service dogs is done by the service dog school of the police, experienced service dog handlers are given the opportunity to raise and prepare a puppy themselves. Important in the selection of the dogs are character, health, environmental behavior and very high prey and play instinct, almost exclusively the breeds Belgian and German Shepherd are used.<\/i><\/p>

How is a dog trained to detect data carriers in the correctional facility?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) Training a data carrier detection dog is more difficult than training a narcotics detection dog, because we are dealing with very small scent fields here and the dog has to be led 90 percent of the time during the search. <\/i><\/p>

This is extremely intense and exhausting, he must also learn to be guided by aids such as a target stick. A very high motivation and search condition is important. <\/i><\/p>

The service dog handler himself must work very precisely and with as few gaps as possible, because the scent fields of a micro SD card or nano SIM are very small.<\/i><\/p>

What the dogs smell exactly, even the Helmholtz Institute Leipzig could not tell me, so it can only be guessed what the dogs pick up and store.<\/i><\/p>

The many different types and shapes of USB sticks alone are very difficult to condition and lead to supposed misdirection.<\/i><\/p>

Could you give us an example of how your dog has been used in the past to search for data carriers?<\/b><\/p>

(M.N.) I myself am also requested and used in administrative assistance for other authorities such as the LKA Saxony for searches. Right at the end of the training (January 2023) there was already the first successful operation with the LKA Saxony, where my data carrier detection dog „Biene“ (Malinois) found an important piece of evidence. Likewise, there have already been several finds of cell phones and various hiding places during missions within the correctional facilities.<\/i><\/p>
