As part of scientific work on the subject of working dogs, K9andSports, under the direction of Dr. Simon Bach, is currently supporting an exciting project: a survey that examines the behavior of working dogs in comparison to other dogs in veterinary practices.<\/p>

This survey is aimed primarily at veterinarians and aims to collect valid data that paints a differentiated picture of the nature and behavior of working dogs. The background: Although working dogs\u2014including service dogs, police dogs, and rescue dogs\u2014have played an important role in our society for many years, there is currently little reliable scientific evidence about their behavior in everyday situations such as veterinary visits.<\/p>

Unfortunately, this often leads to misunderstandings, rumors, and misinformation surrounding this special group of dogs. It is therefore all the more important to shed light on this issue through fact-based research and to promote exchange between science, practice, and the public.<\/p>

First results show a positive picture<\/h3>

So far, 103 veterinarians have participated in the survey. Initial interim results show that working dogs perform surprisingly well in terms of behavior in veterinary practices\u2014sometimes even better than \"normal\" family dogs.<\/p>

The results are intended to help reduce prejudices and provide a more realistic picture of the nature of these dogs. However, to make reliable conclusions, significantly more participants from veterinary practice are needed.<\/p>
