But what do those who regularly encounter these dogs in their daily work think?<\/p><p data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"936\" class=\"translation-block\">An online survey conducted in 2025 by veterinarian Simon Bach among 126 practicing veterinarians provides a clear, differentiated picture.<\/p><h5 data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"982\"><strong data-start=\"947\" data-end=\"982\">Less aggression than expected<\/strong><\/h5><p data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1334\" class=\"translation-block\">The results show that dogs from working dog sports are perceived as aggressive by veterinarians significantly less often than other dogs. Almost 39% of respondents stated that they never perceive such dogs as aggressive, and another 37% only very rarely. Only 6% reported frequent aggressive behavior.<\/p><p data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1500\" class=\"translation-block\">For comparison: Among <strong data-start=\"1355\" data-end=\"1404\">dogs not used in working dog sports<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1411\" data-end=\"1419\">88% of respondents stated that they experienced these <strong data-start=\"1444\" data-end=\"1472\">occasionally or frequently<\/strong> as aggressive.<\/p><p data-start=\"1502\" data-end=\"1621\" class=\"translation-block\">The supposedly \u201ctough\u201d working dog often proves to be a <strong data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1620\">controlled, confident patient<\/strong> in everyday practice.<\/p><h5 data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1670\"><strong data-start=\"1632\" data-end=\"1670\">Well-trained \u2013 easy to treat<\/strong><\/h5><p data-start=\"1672\" data-end=\"1964\" class=\"translation-block\">A clear trend also emerges in the assessment of treatability: 85% of veterinarians agree with the statement that working dogs are easier to handle in everyday practice than the average family dog.<\/p><p data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"2073\">Training, discipline, and a stable human-dog relationship appear to be crucial factors here.<\/p><h5 data-start=\"2080\" data-end=\"2130\"><strong data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2130\">Responsible and cooperative owners<\/strong><\/h5><p data-start=\"2132\" data-end=\"2377\" class=\"translation-block\">The assessment by the owners was particularly positive: 85.7% of respondents rated the compliance, i.e., the willingness to cooperate in everyday veterinary practice, of working dog owners as very good or good.<\/p><p data-start=\"2379\" data-end=\"2532\" class=\"translation-block\">The picture is similarly clear regarding the topic of <strong data-start=\"2412\" data-end=\"2429\">responsibility<\/strong>:<br data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2433\"><strong data-start=\"2433\" data-end=\"2441\">83%<\/strong> rate the average working dog owner as <strong data-start=\"2498\" data-end=\"2525\">very responsible<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong data-start=\"2543\" data-end=\"2552\">Conclusion<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"2554\" data-end=\"2718\" class=\"translation-block\">The data clearly show:<br data-start=\"2580\" data-end=\"2583\">The working dog is <strong data-start=\"2605\" data-end=\"2625\">not a problem dog<\/strong>, but often the <strong data-start=\"2646\" data-end=\"2715\">result of training, consistency and a sense of responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"2554\" data-end=\"2718\" class=\"translation-block\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/k9-and-sports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/UmfrageOnline-Report-1935309-2-2.pdf\" target=\"_self\">umfrageonline.com, 2025<\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recent survey of 126 veterinarians shows that working dogs are far less frequently considered aggressive or problematic in practice than is often assumed.
