Hubert Aiwanger praises the young talent at the SV youth and junior championship in Dingolfing

The SV youth and junior championship took place in Dingolfing at the weekend, where numerous young participants demonstrated their skills in dealing with German Shepherd dogs. Hubert Aiwanger, who took part in the event, emphasized in his speech the importance of young talent for the future of the club.

He emphasized how important it is for young people to take responsibility - both for the animals and for animal welfare as a whole. He acknowledged the role of parents and club boards who support the young people and pave the way for them.

Aiwanger was convinced that the young participants, who had shown impressive performances both in the warm-up and in the tests, will secure a promising future for the German Shepherd Dog Association. The club can be proud of these committed young people and does not need to be afraid of the future.

In his speech he also addressed the current debates surrounding animal protection. Aiwanger criticized the fact that regulations are often issued by people who have little practical experience with animals. The real animal rights activists are those who look after the animals every day, and not the theorists. He praised the fact that the event in Dingolfing was able to take place with little bureaucracy and that the veterinary offices had acted sensibly without issuing unnecessary regulations, which often only lead to preventing events.

Aiwanger advocated that politicians and animal rights activists should not interfere in the breeding goals and breeding work. He emphasized that these decisions should be left to experienced practitioners who know exactly what they are doing. Political interference should be avoided so that breeding work can be continued uninfluenced and professionally.

In his speech he also talked about his own experiences with dogs and how he raised a hunting dog as a teenager and successfully passed tests. This underlined his belief that the effort and time invested in the care and training of the dogs is crucial.

At the end, Aiwanger emphasized the importance of the German Shepherd and advocated for this dog breed to be re-established more in society and the public. He emphasized how important it is that this wonderful breed of dog, which is over 130 years old, can continue to demonstrate its abilities. The event in Dingolfing not only offered exciting competitions, but also an opportunity to celebrate the next generation of German Shepherd handlers and highlight their important role in club life.
