A weekend full of passion, achievement, and political recognition: From July 19 to 20, 2025, the IGP Youngstars Camp took place in Gaimersheim – with over 400 guests, 250 sports-loving young people, and prominent political support.
Unter der Schirmherrschaft von Dr. Reinhard Brandl, Parlamentarischer Geschäftsführer der CSU im Bundestag, rückte der Gebrauchshundesport in den Fokus der Öffentlichkeit und der Politik. In seiner eindringlichen Rede betonte Dr. Brandl:
“Police and rescue dogs make an invaluable contribution to the safety of our society.”
Young talents, strong disciplines:
The camp offered the young athletes an exceptional platform to showcase and improve their skills in the three pillars of IGP sport – tracking, obedience, and protection. Highly qualified instructors and a dedicated organizational team provided a challenging and motivating environment.
Political recognition for working dogs:
Dr. Brandl took the opportunity to gain a comprehensive impression of the camp on site. Particularly impressive was the time he took for personal conversations with:
Representatives of the Bundeswehr Working Dog School
Police dog handlers
the K9andSports team
This direct appreciation shows how seriously Dr. Brandl takes the concerns of working dog sports and how important the political visibility of our work is.
Local politics also showed their colors:
Andrea MickelAndrea Mickel, Mayor of Gaimersheim, made sure to personally visit the camp and welcome the young participants. A strong signal from the region and an important commitment to supporting youth in dog sports.
We say thank you!
To everyone who made this camp possible and to the political support that gives working dogs the attention it deserves.
