Two major events are set: the IGP Youngstars Camp 2.0 and the brand-new K9andSports Helper Camp for active helpers of all ages!

After the overwhelming success of the first Youngstars Camp—with far more applications than available spots—we’re raising the stakes: 250 (!) participant spots for our Youngstars and arguably the largest all-star team the canine sports world has ever seen!

From Mia Skogster, Jogi Zank, Luca Strässer to Knut Fuchs—and including the German Armed Forces’ working dog school, police dog handlers, veterinarians, physiotherapists, performance judges, and officials. Under the patronage of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, they all come together on a voluntary basis.

Thanks to an incredible K9andSports community and numerous sponsors, all Youngstars will once again participate in the camp free of charge!

Brand New: The K9andSports Helper Camp! Stronger Together!
Our sport thrives on young talent—and on active helpers! That’s why we want to offer helpers of all ages the best possible support. Inspired by Marko Koskensalo and Sarah Prelle, who launched this format in the USA, we are now bringing it to Germany.

Experienced top helpers such as Jörg Schwabe, Vincenzo Magnati, Ralf Conzelmann, and Hari Arcon will guide the participants. The focus is on:

✅ Theory & Practice
✅ Rushing exam sessions & training sessions
✅ Properly reading, nurturing, and not overwhelming the dog!
✅ Techniques that reduce the risk of injuries
✅ Leash work & targeted homework for the protégés

Everything active helpers need to know—bundled into one unique camp!

United for the working dog: we’re ready to go again

In 2023, we met for the first time—with representatives from all working dog breed clubs and sports associations, the VDH, Customs, the Police, and the Bundeswehr’s working dog school. Together with Dr. Esther Schalke, commander of the Bundeswehr’s working dog school, we developed a set of criteria outlining which characteristics a modern working dog should possess and how these can be reliably verified.

The accompanying video has already been shared over 400 times. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out here: 👉 https://www.facebook.com/share/v/15hwqxUifF/?mibextid=wwXIfr

What’s next?
One year later, we are approaching our next milestone: our next meeting will take place in the context of official aptitude tests. Our working group has spent a year examining how these tests can evaluate the needs of the deploying teams, and there are exciting developments to look forward to! Stay tuned—we’ll keep you updated.

Crowdfunding Campaign
Only Together Can We Make a Difference

Everything we do to promote working dog sports is based on volunteer commitment. A great example is our Youngstars Camp! 🙌 Our trainers, coaches, and helpers donate their time voluntarily—but despite all the passion and volunteer effort, costs arise that need to be covered. That’s why we’re also relying on crowdfunding! 💙 Every small contribution helps us achieve great things together. Join us and support our cause!

👉 Here’s the current fundraising campaign through which we aim to finance an image campaign: https://gofund.me/64ffe180

Our goal with the current campaign: Break Out of the Dog Sports Bubble!

We want to demonstrate through an image campaign why working dog sports are important—and for that, we need your support. 🙏 Help out by donating and by sharing, sharing, sharing. Together, we can make a difference.
